2016 GMC Acadia Review Written by digiadmin on January 31, 2020. A 3-row SUV whose interior is incomprehensibly large based on its exterior, the Acadia has everything you need to get many people where they need to be. Capable of seating eight in its standard configuration, the 2016 Acadia can alternatively lose a seat in the 2nd row to accommodate two captain’s chairs. The front seats receive extra comforts, including available heating and ventilation, while the second and third-row seats are spacious and comfortable to allow for comfort on long trips. The third row is easily accessible, with GMC’s Smart Slide system on the second-row seats. The entire cabin can be treated to a variety of amenities via the 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment panel, providing access to bluetooth, USB inputs and a Wi-Fi hotspot. Beneath the hood, the Acadia has power in spades. Featuring an available 288 horsepower V6 engine mated to a six-speed automatic transmission, the engine is quiet and powerful. Front-wheel drive is standard, but all-wheel drive is available and comes in handy on backroads or tough weather. When properly equipped, the 2016 Acadia can tow up to two and a half tons. All of the performance and tech in the world pales in importance when compared to safety and GMC took it very seriously when designing the Acadia, demonstrated by it holding the highest safety rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and a perfect five stars from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Featuring a rear-view camera and rear parking sensors, including available forward collision warning, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert, the Acadia is more than capable of protecting you and yours when it matters most. All in all, the 2016 GMC Acadia is a midsize SUV that offers full-size functionality and performance.
